(Mood is crying since these games are so scary..... peeing and crying rn)
For the Newgrounds Halloween Spooktacular, I made two very spooky games (you will be shitting bricks). Been quite busy with school, so apologies if there are any bugs or mistakes! Didn't have much time to polish them :(.
Speaking of school, I'm doing my final senior university research paper on my other game, Times Newer Roman, studying the effects of social media design decisions on user made content. It's essentially a crowdsourced font where everyone draws and votes on letters, pretty cool stuff.
Anyways, here are my two Halloween games! You can play them here:
A full motion video choose your own adventure! It's inspired by those old arcade games like Dragon's Lair where it's just a bunch of videos stitched together with gameplay in between them. In "scary bathroom adventure", you need to pee but the only bathroom in a five mile radius is an abandoned haunted college dorm! Traversing these haunted halls is no easy task and most people will pee themselves in real life (how immersive!). The ending will shock you....
A rogue-like randomly generated platformer! You know how you smell burnt toast when you have a stroke? The stroke causes you to fall into a coma, imagining pieces of bread that traverse your inner subconscious. The deeper you go the scarier it gets, ranging from ghost clowns to failed tests to ungodly abominations at the bottom layer. Play as 5+ different characters and visit 4+ spooky areas.
While zombies and skeletons are pretty spooky, this game actually represents my biggest fear: brain death and slowly going insane... It's freaky stuff, where something is truly wrong in your brain but you can't do anything about it. You're slowly losing it, and unlike a monster, you can't run or hide from it...
